Vintage 1950s Model R414 Tall Mahogany Sideboard by Gordon Russell

This is one of those rare, extra special pieces that might never cross our path again… the stunning R414 mahogany sideboard, designed by WH ‘Curly’ Russell in the mid-fifties for Gordon Russell. The warm, honey tones and the soft, striped patination of the mahogany veneer fronts and external surfaces are simply gorgeous. And the solid mahogany trim creates a subtle note of distinction and definition. The cabinet sits on long, elegantly tapered, solid mahogany legs and the drawers and doors are finished with the original round brass handles. Inside there is a full width, fixed shelf with a cutaway on one side for bottles, and one of the lower drawers has a lined cutlery section. It comes in its original condition. An outstanding example of British midcentury design at its very finest, beautifully designed and beautifully made.
